I can’t believe its already been 3 weeks since we got married! It was the best day of our lives, I cried the next morning because I wish I could’ve done it again. The day was absolutely perfect. I had been worried about rain and wind for 8 months. lol! From the moment we got engaged I knew I wanted a beach wedding. I spent months and months planning that day and it went just as I imagined.

I planned my wedding all by myself, I did most of my research on Pinterest and wedding magazines. I also had help the day of with the wedding coordinators at Johns’ Island, Monica and Linda. I always had an idea of what I wanted which was helpful in the planning process. From the silver dollar garland to the peonies and checkered dance floor, I had a vision of it all. For my tablescape, I added the pink napkins last minute because I thought it might need a pop of color. It’s funny because you have all of your ideas and seeing them all pulled together is such a good feeling. I was kept in a room near the reception before the ceremony and I kept peeking to see it. I was so proud!

We had our wedding at a club called John’s Island in Vero Beach Florida. Since my husband and I live in Palm Beach, we wanted a little something different. Gary’s family has been members at JI since he was a baby. He spent his summers there so it was like a second home to him. I absolutely love it too! It was the perfect place for us because I got to have my beach ceremony and put up a large tent over looking the ocean. It’s also a golf club with three courses and if you know Gary, he loves to play golf. I almost forgot to mention we got married on Masters Weekend. He wore a green jacket to our rehearsal dinner and I got him a masters logo grooms cake. It was perfect!

The boys played golf the day of and I hosted a “Brunch with the Bride” for my bridesmaids, mom, sisters and mother in law. It was beautiful and so girly. While we were getting ready we sipped mimosas and listened to music. It was so fun having all of my bridesmaids together. I’ve met each of them at different times in my life. They all live in different places in the country, one in London. I’ve never had them all in one place, I couldn’t stop smiling all day.

Gary and I’s favorite part of the day was our first dance. We were both more nervous for that than anything else. It was so fun, especially the dirty dancing lift at the end.

There’s so much that goes into planning a wedding, towards the end I was exhausted and some nights I couldn’t sleep. My advice for the “bride to be” is to take up your friends when they offer. I had an assembly line doing my welcome bags in my dining room a couple nights before the wedding. Glad to be done with those!

I could go on and on about every detail to show you but you but I’m going to keep it short and sweet. Please leave me a comment if I left something out 🙂 xoxo

My feature with Palm Beach Illustrated is out on stands now! I love to host parties, so this was so much fun for me!

Here are a few more tips:

  • What would be a safe, yet stylish bet for a woman to wear to a South Florida dinner party? Prepare for an indoor or an outdoor party. I love dresses because you can dress them up or down.
  • How would you make it unique? I love to set a fun table for our guests. I used party poppers for thanksgiving and they were a hit!
  • What type of music do you play for your dinner parties? “Hotel Costes”  and “Jubel” on Pandora are my favorite!
  • Dinner Party Must: Pour yourself a glass of wine, try not be stressed or running around when your guests arrive.

Sunday was my Bridal Shower and I couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful party. I’m also getting married in a month! Ahh! My sister/ Maid of Honor  Heather threw the shower for me at my house.  After going to high tea in London this summer, I thought a tea party would be perfect! We had little finger sandwiches, tea of course, champagne and lots of cake. We started the party with a mimosa hour, followed by lunch, sweets and gifts. The girls liked my pandora station I played, so I wanted to share it you you too. It’s called Jubel. So fun!

Heather was the mastermind behind the whole party. She collected all of the china from vintage stores, pulled in some furniture, and made the floral arrangements herself too. You can’t see it in the photos, but the sandwiches were in heart shapes. My favorite part about the party was having my girlfriends there with me. Some of them I’ve known since I was 12 years old, from college and in recent years. We had the best time and I can’t believe it’s over.

People have been telling me that the wedding will go by so fast and to just stop and enjoy it. I haven’t been posting much on the blog lately because work and planning a wedding is so time consuming. But I can tell you that once everything is over I can’t wait to share it with you!

Thank you for stopping by!

The BIG reveal is finally here!! After several months, our fixer upper is now a brand new home. My fiance and I are so proud of this house, we put so much work into it. He had been driving by this house for years and when it finally came for sale we had to get it. I have to say, he had the vision on this one. It was very outdated, low ceilings, old bathrooms, needed a new pool etc. My favorite part about this house is the bathrooms, I loved picking out the marble mosaic tiles. This house is located on the near north end of Palm Beach, just a quick walk to the ocean (you can hear the waves crash from the driveway) and the Beach Club. When we bought the house last April I decided I wanted to share the process through a blog. Well here it is! Now you know why I named my blog “Cherry Lane”.

Kirsten - Your house looks AMAZING!!! Y’all did a great job! And I love the guest bathroom shower; we are currently looking to redo our shower to look similar to that one with all glass walls. Beautiful home! Congratulations!
